III Prevention and Control of Legionellosis Conference: New Perspectives was held in Denia (Alicante) on February 18, 2016. The conference was addressed to environmental health specialists, operators of installations with risk of Legionella proliferation and dispersion, and prevention of the bacterium enterprises.

The main aspects dealt with at the Conference were related to Legionellosis professional prevention and control, Legionella control companies' quality and the bacterium control in cooling towers. We would like to remark Dr. Catia Sousa Pinto"s participation, Director General of Epidemiology in Portugal, who presented data on the large Legionella outbreak that occurred near Lisbon in 2014. Her presentation revealed the great job her department performed when they faced a health crisis that affected more than 400 people.

Adiquímica participated in an interesting round table about cooling towers with the presentation “Chlorine VS Biocides in cooling towers maintenance disinfection“. Dr. Nuria Adroer, head of R+D+i department and chemist expert in this sector, presented the talk, which was a review about the use of chlorine and/or other types of biocides for water maintenance and disinfection treatments in cooling towers.

The conference was a great participation success with more than 200 participants.
